About ten years ago, we had an old lady in town who used to scream at trees, but I also saw her screaming at a telephone pole once.
This was back when it was politically correct to "mainstream" people who probably belonged in a nuthouse, but who were not a danger to themselves or to others. I can't, however, speak for the trees.
